The Vatican may be accepting $2 billion a year in bribes from the communist Chinese government

The Vatican became an independent state in 1929 by the Lateran Treaty, but the holy city might not be much of an independent state anymore. A Chinese dissident confessed this weekend that the Vatican accepts money from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) every year in the form of bribes. Now in exile, political dissident Guo Wengui alleges that the CCP “allocates $2 billion a year” to keep the Vatican silent on atrocities committed by Chinese officials.
