1039905200(DARPA) – The Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is looking into engaging blockchain technology used by the cryptocurrency bitcoin for securing nuclear weapons and surveillance satellites.Blockchain tech was originally designed to track and accurately process the transfer of bitcoins, serving as a kind of recorded timeline of the activities of the virtual currency. Timothy Booher, DARPA program manager in charge of studying the use of blockchain technology, explained that the tech shows excellent data integrity, indicating high accuracy and consistency of the data stored in a database.
