Saudi government could be SUED by families of 9/11 victims after US Senate passes bill

image.jpegFamilies of the victims of 9/11 could be allowed to sue the Saudi government The ruling would remove the immunity which prevents lawsuits against governments for countries found to be involved in terrorist attacks on US soil. This would allow victims’ families to sue any member of the Saudi government thought to have played a role in any element of the attack.  However the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA) will now move to the House of Representatives before being officially signed off. Barack Obama said he will veto the bill but Democratic Senator Charles Schumer is “confident” the President would be overruled.
