Carcasses of thousands of blue buttons wash ashore along the Odisha coast India as ecosystem struggles with the heat

imageIt’s an area of India which has been witnessing record temperatures of 46C+ or 115F. As the people of Odisha struggle to cope with the heat, high humidity and drought now reports of thousands of jellyfish are washing up dead along the beaches as the marine ecosystem has begun to collapse from the heat. The Odisha Sun Times reports: Carcasses of thousands of blue button jellyfish were found along Konark-Astaranga coastline in the Odisha’s Puri district since the last two-three days raising concerns among the environmentalists and wildlife experts.
