6.0 magnitude earthquake rattles Malaysia’s tallest mountain – killing two climbers


A strong earthquake rocked Malaysia’s highest mountain Friday, killing two people and leaving more than 130 tourists stranded — possibly including Americans. A 12-year-old girl from Singapore and a local tour guide died when the 5.9-magnitude quake struck Sabah state on Borneo Island, home to Mount Kinabalu. At least 11 climbers on the peak were injured, and about 137 people were left stranded on the mountain.
